A Great Year for Cigars

The Cigar Association of America released the full year 2006 report on cigar imports and it showed that the U.S. imported a little over 311 million premium cigars. That is only the fifth time that imports have topped the 300 million mark and it was also the fourth highest ever. 2006 results of over 300 million made it the trifecta for consecutive years over the somewhat magical 300 million mark.

The top three exporters to the U.S. were the usual suspects: Dominican Republic at just over 171 million exported, Honduras at #2 with just over 80 million and Nicaragua coming in third with just over 56 million cigars exported to the U.S. Six other countries contributed smaller amounts to the U.S. market and all cigar smokers I am sure appreciate their efforts!

So another year over 300 million imports to the U.S? You guys are buying cigars like their going out of style! Keep up the good work, and if you need to buy an additional or larger cigar humidor for all these cigars your buying...drop us a line...we know of this great place to buy great cigar humidors!
